A system of 14 high definition cameras at the airport will feed the remote ATC operation, as well as remote radios and radar feeds.<\/li>\n<li>London City controllers will direct traffic by looking at any of the 14 HD screens in the control room in Shanwick.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The article:\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>safe separation between arriving and departing aircraft<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>delay<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Additional data safety measures will ensure there\u2019s no loss of <strong>safe separation between arriving and departing aircraft<\/strong>. For instance, because controllers depend on the video feeds from the airport\u2019s cameras, the data are being sent through dedicated secure connections that create less than a one-second <strong>delay<\/strong> to the HD displays in the control room.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nNK9S1urHHQ\">Watch HERE the presentation<\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>on the remaining 13 screens\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>replacing a dead screen<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>fill the gap<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>impenetrable fog<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If any of the HD displays in the control room should fail, the system will work around the bad screen and offer controllers the best view possible <strong>on the remaining 13<\/strong>. <strong>Replacing a dead screen<\/strong> takes just 10 minutes. Should a camera fail, backups will jump into action to<strong>fill the gap<\/strong>.
